- The massive cup-shaped ring of bone, with its ligaments, at the inferior end of the trunk, formed of the hip bone (the pubic bone, ilium, and ischium) on either side and in front of the sacrum and coccyx, posteriorly.
- Any basinlike or cup-shaped cavity, such as the pelvis of the kidney.
