Pronunciation: pan'to-il-taw'rin, -ren

Definition: Pantothenic acid in which the carboxyl group is replaced by a sulfonic acid group; analogous to pantothenic acid in structure, except that taurine replaces ß-alanine in the molecule.

Synonym(s): thiopanic acid
