Definition:

  1. An instrument for reproducing drawings by a system of levers whereby a recording pencil is made to follow the movements of a stylet passing along the lines of the original.
  2. In dentistry, an instrument used to record mandibular border movements that may be transferred to make equivalent settings on an articulator.
