pancreatic buds

 

Definition: outgrowths of endodermal lining of the caudal part of the foregut; the ventral and dorsal buds fuse and develop into the pancreas. The vental bud forms the uncinate process and inferior part of the head of the pancreas and the remaining part of the gland is derived from the dorsal bud.
