oligo-a-1,6-glucosidase

Pronunciation: ol'i-go-glu-ko'si-das

Definition: A glucanohydrolase catalyzing the hydrolysis of a-1,6 links in isomaltose and dextrins produced from starch and glycogen by a-amylase; secreted into the duodenum; a deficiency of this enzyme leads to defects in intestinal digestion of limit dextrins.
