nodular fasciitis

 

Definition: a rapidly growing tumorlike proliferation of fibroblasts, not thought to be neoplastic, with mild inflammatory exudation occurring in fascia; the fibrosis may infiltrate surrounding tissue but does not progress indefinitely or metastasize.

Synonym(s): pseudosarcomatous fasciitis
