Neoascaris vitulorum

Pronunciation: ne'o-as'ka-ris vi'tyu-lo'rum

Definition: The large roundworm occurring in the small intestine of cattle, water buffalo, and (rarely) sheep; although uncommon in the U.S., it is a serious cattle parasite in many other areas. Experimental infection has been produced in rodents and humans.
