Negri bodies

Pronunciation: nā′grē

Definition: eosinophilic, sharply outlined, pathognomonic inclusion bodies (2–10 mcm in diameter) found in the cytoplasm of certain nerve cells containing the virus of rabies, especially in Ammon horn of the hippocampus.
