Definition:

  1. The lipoproteinaceous material, composed of regularly alternating membranes of lipid lamellae (cholesterol, phospholipids, sphingolipids, and phosphatidates) and protein, of the myelin sheath.
  2. Droplets of lipid formed during autolysis and postmortem decomposition.
