Definition:

  1. Shrivelling of a dead, retained fetus.
  2. In dentistry, treatment of inflamed dental pulp with fixative drugs (usually formaldehyde derivatives) to retain teeth so treated for relatively short periods; generally acceptable only for primary (deciduous) teeth.
