mucinous carcinoma

 

Definition: a variety of adenocarcinoma in which the neoplastic cells secrete conspicuous quantities of mucin, and, as a result, the neoplasm is likely to be glistening, sticky, and gelatinoid in consistency.

Synonym(s): colloid cancer, colloid carcinoma
