mucinoid degeneration

 

Definition: a term including both mucoid and colloid degeneration, the essential cellular changes in both being similar, the only difference being that, in colloid degeneration, the substance is firmer and more inspissated than in mucoid degeneration, in which it is thin and jellylike.
