morning glory anomaly


Definition: congenital anomaly of the optic disc in which the nerve head is funnel-shaped, with a dot of white tissue at the end of the excavation, and is surrounded by an elevated pigmented anulus; the retinal vessels seen are multiple narrow bands at the edge of the disk.
