middle ring of nuclear pore complex
Definition: also known as central framework; composed of eight transmembrane protein subunits that are embedded in the junction of the inner and outer membranes of the nuclear envelope as they form the periphery of the nuclear pore; supports the cytoplasmic and nuclear rings.
