mediastinal fibrosis

 

Definition: fibrosis that may obstruct the superior vena cava, pulmonary arteries, veins, or bronchi; most common cause is histoplasmosis; less commonly tuberculosis or unknown.

Synonym(s): fibrosing mediastinitis, idiopathic fibrous mediastinitis
