Definition: branches primarily distributed to the medial portion of the breast. Terminologia Anatomica lists medial mammary branches (rami mammarii mediales...) of the following: 1) anterior cutaneous branches of intercostal nerves (...rami cutanei anterioris nervorum intercostalium [TA]); nerve branches accompanying the perforating branches of internal thoracic artery. 2) perforating branches of internal thoracic artery (...rami perforantes arteriae thoracicae internae [TA]).
