Definition: primary artery of the infratemporal fossa; origin, external carotid; branches, first (retromandibular) part: deep auricular, anterior tympanic; second (infratemporal part: middle meningeal, inferior alveolar, masseteric, deep temporal, buccal; third (pterygopalatine) part: posterior superior alveolar, infraorbital, descending palatine, artery of pterygoid canal, sphenopalatine.
