Definition: A saccharine exudation from Fraxinus ornus, flowering ash, a tree of the Mediterranean shores, used as a laxative, especially for children. It is available as manna cannellata, a flake manna; manna in lacrimis, manna in tears or small flakes; and manna communis or manna in sortis, manna in sorts.
