long-chain 3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiency

 

Definition: a fatty acid oxidation disorder; patients may experience episodes of acute hypoketotic hypoglycemia (similar to that found in MCAD deficiency), cardiomyopathy, muscle weakness, and liver abnormalities.
