Definition: anterior branches of lateral cutaneous branches of intercostal nerves arising in approximately the anterior axillary line at the level of the second through sixth intercostal spaces (lateral pectoral cutaneous branches) or those crossing the costal margin to extend onto the anterior abdominal wall (lateral abdominal cutaneous branches) from the seventh through 11th intercostal spaces..
