Langerhans granule

Pronunciation: lahng'er-hahnz

Definition: a small, tennis racket–shaped membrane-bound granule with characteristic cross-striated internal ultrastructure; first reported in Langerhans cells of the epidermis.

Synonym(s): Birbeck granule
