kaolin clotting time

 

Definition: a sensitive test of platelet-poor plasma for detecting lupus anticoagulants in mixtures of plasma taken from patients and from control groups; kaolin initiates clotting through the contact factors and subsequently involves other factors in the intrinsic pathway of coagulation.
