ischiofemoral ligament


Definition: the thickened part of the capsule of the hip joint that passes from the ischium upward and laterally over the femoral neck; some of its fibers continue into the zona orbicularis.

Synonym(s): ligamentum ischiofemoraleTA, ischiocapsular ligament, ligamentum ischiocapsulare
