intervertebral vein

 

Definition: one of numerous veins accompanying the spinal nerves through the intervertebral foramina, draining the spinal cord and vertebral venous plexuses, and emptying in the neck into the vertebral vein, in the thorax into the intercostal veins, in the lumbar and sacral regions into the lumbar and sacral veins.
