intermuscular septum

 

Definition: a term applied to aponeurotic sheets separating various muscles of the limbs; these are anterior and posterior crural intermuscular septa of leg (septa intermuscularia cruris anterius et posterius), lateral and medial femoral intermuscular septa (septa intermuscularia femoris laterale et mediale), lateral and medial intermuscular septa of arm (septa intermuscularia brachii laterale et mediale).
