infantile neuroaxonal dystrophy

 

Definition: a rare, familial disorder of early childhood manifested as progressive psychomotor deterioration, increased reflexes, positive Babinski sign, hypotonia, and progressive blindness. Pathologically, eosinophilic spheroids of swollen axoplasm are found in various central nervous system nuclei.
