hypercorticoidism

Pronunciation: hi'per-kor'ti-koyd-izm

Definition: Excessive secretion of one or more steroid hormones of the adrenal cortex; sometimes used also to designate the state produced by therapeutic administration of large quantities of steroids having glucocorticoid activity, hydrocortisone.
