Pronunciation: hi-drok'se-as'il-glu'ta-thi'on hi'dro-las

Definition: An enzyme with catalytic activity similar to that of lactoylglutathione lyase, but more general; catalyzes the hydrolysis of an S-2-hydroxyacylglutathione, producing glutathione and a 2-hydroxy acid anion.
