hydrocephalus

Pronunciation: hi'dro-sef'a-lus

Definition: A condition marked by an excessive accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid resulting in dilation of the cerebral ventricles and raised intracranial pressure; may also result in enlargement of the cranium and atrophy of the brain.
