high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion

 

Definition: term used in the Bethesda system for reporting cervical/vaginal cytologic diagnosis to describe a spectrum of noninvasive cervical epithelial abnormalities, including moderate and severe dysplasia, carcinoma in situ, and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grades 2 and 3.
