Definition: inflammation of arteries within the cerebral arterial circle secondary to chronic basal meningitis from a tubercle bacillus (Mycobacterium tuberculosis, M. bovis) or particular fungi such as Cryptococcus, Histoplasma, or Coccidiodes.
