Griesinger disease

Pronunciation: gre'sing-er

Definition: bilious typhoid of Griesinger, a severe form of louse-borne relapsing fever caused by Borrelia recurrentis associated with clinical features including high fever, epistaxis, dyspnea, intense jaundice, purpura, and splenomegaly.
