Definition: a stain used to demonstrate beta cells of the pancreas, storage form of thyrotropic hormone in beta cells of the anterior pituitary, hypophyseal neurosecretory substance, mast cells, granules, elastic fibers, sulfated mucins, and gastric chief cells.
