glycogenosis type 2


Definition: glycogenosis due to lysosomal a-1,4-glucosidase deficiency, resulting in accumulation of excessive amounts of glycogen of normal chemical structure in heart, muscle, liver, and nervous system.

Synonym(s): generalized glycogenosis, Pompe disease
