glutamate synthase

Definition: an enzyme that converts l-glutamine, a-ketoglutarate, and NADH (in some cases, NADPH) to two l-glutamates and NAD+ (or NADP+); apparently, a nonmammalian enzyme. In some plants this is a ferredoxin-dependent reaction.
