fluorescence resonance energy transfer microscopy

 

Definition: transfer of excitation from a donor dye to an acceptor dye, at very small distances of 1–5 nm, without release of a photon. This technique facilitates the visualization of biologic phenomena that cause alterations at molecular distances.
