Pronunciation: flu'ens

Definition: A measure of the quantity of x-radiation in a beam in diagnostic radiology, either particle fluence, the number of photons passing an aperture of unit cross-sectional area, or energy fluence, the sum of the energies of the photons passing through a unit area.
