flexible fiberoptic bronchoscope
Definition: a long cylindric bronchoscope that may be placed through nose or mouth; allows visualization of upper and lower airways, as well as projection to a screen or monitor of received image. Used in tracheal intubation when indirect laryngoscopy has failed.
