familial pseudoinflammatory macular degeneration

 

Definition: macular degeneration that occurs during the fifth decade of life, with sudden development of a central scotoma in one eye followed rapidly by a similar lesion in the opposite eye; autosomal dominant inheritance.

Synonym(s): Sorsby macular degeneration
