extrapyramidal disease

 

Definition: a general term for a number of disorders caused by abnormalities of the basal ganglia or certain brainstem or thalamic nuclei; characterized by motor deficits, loss of postural reflexes, bradykinesia, tremor, rigidity, and various involuntary movements.
