endodermal sinus tumor

 

Definition: a malignant neoplasm occurring in the gonads, in sacrococcygeal teratomas, and in the mediastinum; produces a-fetoprotein and is thought to be derived from primitive endodermal cells.

Synonym(s): yolk sac tumor
