diagonal conjugate

 

Definition: the anteroposterior dimension of the inlet that measures the clinical distance from the promontory of the sacrum to the inferior margin of the pubic symphysis, measured manually per vagina or by ultrasonography. It is used to extrapolate the true conjugate.
