dentoperiosteal fiber group
Definition: type I collagen fibers collected into fiber bundles within the subepithelial connective tissue of the gingiva; they extend from the cementum of the cervix of the tooth, pass over the crest of the alveolus, and insert into the periosteum of the cortical plate of the alveolus.
