Definition: branch that passes deeply, beneath, or farther from surface; usually in contrast to a superficial branch. Terminologica Anatomica lists deep branches of the lateral planter nerve, medial circumflex femoral artery, medial plantar artery, radial nerve, superior gluteal artery, transverse cervical artery, and ulnar nerve.
