Czerny suture

Pronunciation: sher'ne

Definition: the first row of the Czerny-Lembert intestinal suture; the needle enters the serosa and passes out through the submucosa or muscularis, and then enters the submucosa or muscularis of the opposite side and emerges from the serosa.
