Pronunciation: kris'ta-lin

Definition: One of several water-soluble proteins found in the lens of the eye; a (an embryonic single protein), ß, and ? varieties (based on precipitibility) are known. Reptiles and birds have a ?-crystalline as well. e-Crystallin is the same as lactate dehydrogenase.
