Definition: muscle of anterior (flexor) compartment of arm; origin, coracoid process of scapula; insertion, middle of medial border of humerus; action, adducts and flexes the arm; acts as a shunt muscle in resisting downward dislocation of shoulder joint; nerve supply, musculocutaneous.
