community-acquired pneumonia


Definition: pneumonia caused by any organism found regularly outside the hospital; common organisms include Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, and Mycoplasma, as opposed to hospital-acquired or nosocomical pneumonia.
