Champy fixative

Pronunciation: sham'pe

Definition: a mixture of potassium bichromate, chromic acid, and osmic acid; considered an excellent cytologic fixative with advantages and disadvantages similar to those of Flemming fixative; it differs from Flemming fixative in substituting bichromate for acetic acid.
