Definition: a glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored membrane protein present in tissues derived from all three germ layers during embryogenesis and adult colon epithelial cells; facilitates calcium-independent adhesion during embryogenesis; expressed in most colon carcinomas and other carcinomas.
